Travel ::: Aspen Day Two

The day after the wedding we woke up to a sunny and gorgeous day and decided to take another trip up the mountain.

This was the first full day that the sun was beaming from morning to night.

We hopped on the gondola and ascended the Aspen Mountain to take in the views during the day.

Couldn't get enough of these views.

Cotton candy clouds.

Family's crowded the Sun Deck Lodge while music played and food/drinks was served.

These dogs were chilling in the shade while their owners were inside the Lodge.

Same location as the previous nights wedding.

We went inside to have a drink and spend enough time taking in the views before the gondolas stopped running at 4pm.

On the ride down we saw this gorgeous rainbow greeting us from the window.

Although I am no skier, Aspen Mountain was such a beautiful location to spend the day exploring. Look out for my next post which includes the newly opened Aspen Art Museum and Independence Pass!

Travel ::: A Wedding on Top of Aspen Mountain

And now for the grand reason we came to Colorado - a wedding!

The wedding was a top of Aspen Mountain so all of the wedding guests met at the gondolas around 4pm to begin the trip up to the ceremony and reception.

What a different way to get to a party!

The trip took about 20 min to climb the 11,000 + feet up the mountain.

When guests arrived at The Sun Deck Lodge they were met with beautiful views of the mountains.

What an absolutely stunning view to exchange vows to.

The bride looked gorgeous in an off the shoulder dress with a flower crown to top off the look.

Time to celebrate!

We entered the rustic cabin to a beautiful simple and minmal set up and decor.

A view of the cake....

...and greeted with champagne.

The bride and groom really lucked out with the weather - there had been a huge storm that rolled in around 2pm leaving it clear for the ceremony and reception.

French 75's were the drink of the night.

We ate rib-eyed steaks and strawberry creme cake and danced the night away!

What's a wedding without a photobooth?

At around midnight we bid farewell to the couple with a line of sparklers.

To many years of health, love and happiness.

On the way back to the gondolas to take us back down the mountain we gazed up at the stars and I swear I saw like three shooting stars!

It was magical!

Almost as magical? - This caramel corn and the most delicious hot chocolate I've ever had.

Absolutely beautiful wedding! Congrats to the couple!
