Travel ::: Wynwood, Miami

A few weeks ago, a work trip was set up for Monday the 12/5 and Tuesday the 12/6 in Miami. As soon as I figured out it was on a Monday, I decided to take advantage and fly out Friday to enjoy the weekend in one of my favorite second cities.

When looking for events going on that weekend, we were beyond pleasantly surprised that our trip landed right during Art Basel

Found these amazing yellow sunnies on Broadway for $5 - and thought it would be a fun accessory for the Miami vibe.

See you later NYC!

And...we arrived at our Air B&B!

We rented a little studio apartment right on 3rd Street and Ocean Drive. Where we could literally walk right out on the beach from the pool deck in the backyard.

After settling in and a quick outfit change, we decided to walk up Ocean Drive and grab a drink.

Something about the energy in Miami, doesn't let you go straight to sleep.

Can't get enough of the Art Deco buildings and oldie cars parked along the restaurants and bars.

We met my friend Zareen, at Ocean Ten and decided to extend our night by making a trip into Wynwood.

We started at Gramps - a beer & cocktail bar.

Thank god for Wynwood! Miami proper can have a very inauthentic vibe when it comes to bars and restaurants, and Wynwood makes up for all of that with it's explosion of arts, culture, food & soul.

Everywhere you turn there is some interesting piece of art to look at.

We ended up staying out until about 5am (which is not normal for me!) so thank god the next day was gloomy and cloudy so we could spend the entire day at the convention center.

Super excited to show you all the dope art I saw at Art Basel. Until my next post.....
